Kuroo
The story of Kuroo’s coming to be started as far as he has lived. Thousands of years ago the eastern dragon population flourished freely across the southwest regions of the continent of Asia. Not until recently, the population of all those dragons starts to diminish due to depletion of food supplies, alternating climates and with humans hunting them down to extinction. The once mighty eastern dragons around the continent start to fall apart.
One rare species in particular was part of the diminishing population and those where the Drakinics. This special breed of eastern dragons thrived throughout the nation of Japan in peace and coexistence with humanity. But with the placement of an emperor who thinks that humanity should be superior to the dragons of Japan he ordered to kill them all. Many of the peoples of Japan engaged into a brutal war along with the Drakinics for their right to exist and coexist. The result of the war ended with the removal and execution of the emperor.
Many of the Drakinic species before the war feared that the war would lead to their ultimate demise so many of the fertile females produced hundreds of eggs and placed them under secret caves and passageways so to protect them from unwitting humans and the elements of nature from harming them. Their plan was successful but sadly their mothers never came back as they where fallen in the war.
Fast forwarding to the spring of 1659 where an old man by the name of Tzu-Chang leaves his monastery for a long but joyful walk down the forests and even the mountains surrounding the place; then came that morning that would change his life forever. A violent thunderstorm has stricken the country side and as just as he was about to find shelter a bolt of lighting has hit the path where Tzu is trying to run and he fell and tumbled until he fell into a deep hole knocking him unconscious.
When he woke up he sees a blurred vision of a creature that he has never seen before. The figure was entirely black save for the goldenrod underside with small spikes on the tip of his muzzle and several that reached from the top of his head to the end of its tail. The small baby licked the side of the old mans face; Tzu didn’t reacted with fear or death wish. He can sense that this small and frail being just wants to be friendly. Tzu gets up holding the baby and with a shock of amazement he recognizes his species and here he came from.
Looking at the broken egg he suspected of him getting out of and then seeing out into the vast space with the help of the light of the lightning strikes he discovered that he has accidentally stumbled upon one of many of the lost Drakinic breeding caves that thought to be lost during the war. Sadly he also has seemed some of the eggs smashed under fallen rocks and even those that where damaged under a massive quake that hit the country years ago. Only a few hundred survived even with the new hatchling being the first. Tzu smiled as held up the creature as it was a newborn baby smiling for the first time.
Suddenly a rope came down at his side to see some of his students happy to find their master fine and well but also with a surprise that shocked the students. Tzu now became more than just a master of a monastery he became a father to a child from a generation hidden away from the world to survive.
Years past and the dragon child now named “Kuroo” meaning “Black Fire” by the ability of his breath weapon. Started to learn well to his father’s teachings even to the teachings from his students of how to keep a peaceful mind while defending himself from anything that would harm him or his “Family”. Kuroo learns of the remaining Drakinics living amongst the small towns and cities of the nation. Kuroo sometimes feels that his father is overprotective of him leaving too long. His other reason is that he knows the concept of “The world being a cruel place” and placed curfew on him to make sure he abides by it.
One day while walking in the forest two thieves lead by a large drakinic male came and have beaten down the dragon but has overcame them with his skills even with his fire breath. But the large drakinic overcame him and left battered as he left. His father came to him an hour later and came to his aid. Wrapped in bandages Kuroo feels more than his body hurting it was his pride from which from the beginning that he kept under control finally broke. What felt more worse to him is that he proved that his father’s silent warnings finally came true on that day.
His father has felt a bit rotten from saying that to him and with some time and thought he has came with a solution that can benefit his son’s sudden shortcomings and to overcome the warnings that he was at fault for. He has taken his son to a vast and large valley where he and another senior-most student to help him train to become stronger, faster and powerful than any other and would never have to let history repeat itself as with the encounter with the three rogues.
As the years gone by so did his clothes as his body altered and swelled with new muscle bursts out of his uniform as one of the promises of his secret training progressed on from fighting under water to carrying large rocks across long distances across mountains, fields and the roaring rocky beaches. Then one day tragedy stricken the monastery as their master is slowly dying. Kuroo made a mad rush to the monastery as came to his father’s final resting place. He kneeled before him and a weakened hand placed upon his massive black forearm and gave one last smile to his face looking at his eyes like he did when he was a small hatching. “My son, heed these words, this world may be cruel but will never prevail as long as good-hearted souls like you roam the earth. Go forth and you shall find your own peace one day…my…son…”
Those where Tzu’s final words before his hand slides off his forearm and died.
Years pass and with each new master succeeding after Tzu, Kuroo maintains his training for decades while keeping the integrity of the monastery intact. Helping the newer generations of students to be skilled warriors while being one-with themselves and he’s been doing that for hundreds of years on end. Then enter a new master who was unusual in his methods as he has taught the next wave of students several skills that Kuroo didn’t understand even dared to object to. This created tension between the new master and the monastery’s eldest student and time and time again the new master played one too many mind games on him until he finally snapped and did what he never had thought to do: He challenged the master.
The battle lasted for days with several moves, bruises and insults flung at one another nearing the end of the battler both challengers are feeling that they are about to die on their feet. That was the feeling that one young girl saw as she dared to stand in the way of both of them, Feeling ashamed to see what she thought they are her heroes fighting like a bunch of bickering children. Seeing themselves acting like that they immediately stopped and walked away feeling that it went without so much as an apology or a good show for showing an display of an exchange of skills but then the Master turned around and called out to Kuroo saying he “earned” something that he thought might become useful one day. He didn’t understand what he meant but he takes his word on it on the following night where he meets with the master and is inviting him to show him a move that is totally unknown. An invented one that he has never once tested before but will one day become useful in taking down even them most superior of enemies. And having Kuroo around, he secretly might use him as a helper/guinea pig for such a test of a new technique.
This technique is known as Chiymoy Oyakona this did sounded new to Kuroo as it is never known in every text he’s been learning for hundreds of years. Within time and a few tests that Kuroo was able to take the blows that otherwise be deadly to a human. In time this totally new art form in fighting is now mastered secretly between him and Kuroo.
Later in his years and closer to the new century there were news of other Drakinics roaming around the area of here he is. Humanity’s post-war generations managed to live to accept the re-growing population at large. Sitting on the edge of the walls he looks out into the horizon and reminisces about what his father said to him in his last minutes of his life. All those lead to the event days later where Kuroo decides to leave the monastery and go out into the world.
Years now into the new century Kuroo manages to live within the world of futuristic Tokyo where he has gotten a job locally as a bouncer. He had a good history and even greater pay getting deviants out of the hottest and noisiest clubs and concerts. Until one day a mysterious woman who works for the government enlists Kuroo to work for security detail in a number of top-secret projects to simple diplomatic detail. He may have overcome the years of staying in the monastery but that doesn’t mean he felt the same when he leaves the country just for moderate pay. Mostly traveling to United States and handing frequently request to do odd undisclosed jobs for the government. Kuroo bought land in Legend, Texas where he can relax when he is not out doing any assignments. He finds Legend to be a place he can call at home when he away from home. He works with Bluz at Claws & Paws Gym as a Karate Instructor in his spare time.
Today at 450 years of age and still living in his native Japan at a high rise he has made a humble living for himself being the “strong guy” in the crowd. He makes his annual visit to the old monastery where he grew up and train and being the only one who can learn a fighting skill that no one as ever seen before, he keeps that only to himself. The only ones who know of that skill are the enemies that ended up on the receiving end of his might. Overall, Kuroo is happy as were he is now.
